We take two national service personnel each year into the quality assurance team, and this posting is for the coming service year.

You will test the systems we build before they reach clients: working through test plans, reporting defects, and checking that fixes actually fixed the problem. It is structured, detailed work, and it is one of the better ways to learn how software is actually made. Personnel who perform well are offered a permanent role at the end of the service year, and several of our current developers came through this route.

This is a genuine training placement with a named supervisor and a written plan, not an errand-running post. The monthly allowance is paid on top of the national service allowance.
