The role
The Trust is recruiting a Programme Driver based at the Cape Coast office, supporting outreach teams travelling to communities across the Central Region.
You will drive programme staff and equipment to outreach points, maintain the assigned vehicle, keep accurate logs, and handle basic roadside issues. Outreach days start early and the roads to some communities are poor, so the role needs someone careful and unhurried rather than fast.
Drivers are treated as part of the programme team here, not as a service function. You will be present for the work you are supporting and are expected to help set up.
What you will do
- Drive programme staff and equipment to outreach locations safely and on schedule
- Maintain the assigned vehicle, including daily checks and scheduled servicing
- Keep accurate vehicle, fuel and journey logs
- Assist outreach teams with setting up and packing down equipment
- Report any vehicle defect immediately and do not drive an unsafe vehicle
What you need
- Valid Ghanaian driving licence, class C or above, held for at least three years
- Clean driving record with two contactable referees
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Familiar with roads across the Central Region
- Willing to start early on outreach days and occasionally stay overnight
